Volunteering: Farm Gym
We will be holding monthly volunteer “Farm Gym” days from April to September, on Thursdays or Fridays around the middle of the month (dates to be confirmed depending on interest and availability – keep an out on the blog for latest details, or drop us an email). Here willing workers can come and join in various horticultural activities, in return for wholesome all-round outdoor exercise, gardening and food-growing experience, skill exchanges, fun and friendship – and, best of all, a free lunch!
Activities range from small building projects (eg benches/tables, hot beds, polytunnel construction and skinning) to sowing and planting, weeding, harvesting, compost-making and all the intriguing little jobs in between. Interested? Then email firstname.lastname@example.org, stating whether Thursday or Friday would suit you better; please mention if you have any previous horticultural or relevant experience (none needed but useful for us to know), and what you’d like to get out of the volunteer days.
We can also take volunteers or work experience students individually on other pre-arranged days. Please contact email@example.com for more information.
Would you like to arrange for your company to take part in a fun team-building day working on the veg growing: from weeding competitions and light building projects to planting food, harvesting produce and a delicious Hartley Farm lunch? Not only will volunteering fit with your plans for corporate responsibility and ethical practice, you’ll also have a great time outdoors, and your employees can connect with each other in a relaxed and natural atmosphere. Please contact us with your requirements.
Occasionally we have some seasonal work available during the spring and summer months, which will usually be advertised here; if you are interested please get in touch and we will keep your details on file.
