Part-Time Assistant Grower Wanted: 2017

IMG_20160629_093939Part-time assistant grower wanted 2-3 days/week February-November 2017, initially to cover the current head grower’s maternity leave; work will also be available and ongoing after this time.

Wages: £8/hr, & monthly profit share available. Wages paid on a freelance invoice basis.

Hours: 2 days/16 hours+ per week needed in early spring/late autumn, and 3 days/24 hours+ per week needed in spring/summer/early autumn; flexibility available on hours/days.

IMG_20160519_140512Jobs to include: ground preparation, propagation, planting, weed control, harvesting produce, packing produce, delivering produce, light machinery work, occasionally managing other seasonal workers/volunteer days. This is a great chance to experience how all parts of a small market garden business work, with plenty of autonomy and responsibility in the day-to-day running of the business. The current head grower will still be available for guidance and advice whilst on leave; so an ideal opportunity for anyone thinking of starting their own horticultural business in the future.

Grown Green is an award-winning and expanding market garden business, producing a variety of fresh vegetables, salad and herbs for farm shops, cafés, restaurants and markets in the Bath/Bradford on Avon area. We are currently growing on 3.5 acres land with 4 polytunnels, 2 mini tunnels, a small propagation tunnel, and 2 small fields.
