At last: the rest of the tomatoes have gone in. Phew. These guys are the trial varieties, along with some more old faithfuls, to compare them. My Howard 300 rotovator helpfully broke down halfway through preparing the ground on Friday, so some have had to go straight into uncultivated soil. Fortunately I’d only just pulled out parsley and coriander where they were going, so the ground was in ok shape. I also ran out of string several times; so now the tunnel is a lovely mixture of colours (I especially like the pink and luminous orange). This year the tomato and pepper tunnel is the party tunnel…
