IMG-20130415-00316Several breakaway tadpoles are now in evidence around the pond, not far away from the congealed mass of wriggling bodies that has collapsed in a heap into the shelter of the terracotta pot. These explorers seem to be enjoy the thin film of algae on the submerged sones and bricks; it’s all very exciting! I’m keeping the trellis over the top of that end of the pond, after hearing horror stories of wild ducks sniping frogspawn from ponds and lakes. The plan to nuture an army to counter the slug onslaught later this year moves into Phase 2…
